The new Surface Pro looks a lot like the Surface Pro 6 at first glance. It still has the 12.3-inch PixelSense display. Just about the only external upgrade worth nothing is a much-anticipated USB-C port, the Surface Pro being one of the last Microsoft products to receive it.
— Microsoft Surface (@surface) October 2, 2019 While the exterior looks the same, upgraded internals are the order of the day. The Surface Pro 7 runs on 10th-gen Intel processors, which Microsoft claims will allow it to run 2.3 times faster than previous generations. The base model comes with 4GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, but can be upgraded to have as much as 16GB and 1 TB, respectively. The majority of the presentation time at the event was given to the new updates to Microsoft Edge and the Surface Pen — the latter now offers in-cell handwriting recognition on Excel, by the way. The company also says the Surface Pro 7 will have better microphones to improve speech-to-text. The Surface Pro is available for pre-order today, and will be available on October 22. It’ll be available in several colors, and starts at $749. Check out our coverage of everything related to today’s Microsoft event.
